Green Deal Connections Events

With the first phase of Green Deal Connections events now over, it is time to start looking ahead to the launch of the Green Deal, and ensure that you are fully prepared for what it has to offer. Over 1500 people attended the events held between October 2011 and March 2011

The events were run by the Green Deal Skills Alliance (CITB-ConstructionSkills, AssetSkills, SummitSkills) and were attended by Green Deal providers, assessors, advisors, installers, and related skills bodies and learning providers; making Green Deal Connections.

Programme

The events aim was to connect the Green Deal supply chain with the relevant skills information and included exhibitions, seminars and presentations on:

  • Overview of Green Deal Process including: qualifications, accreditation, regulatory bodies and the Green Deal Code
  • The role of Government departments
  • The skills required across Green Deal advice, assessment and installation
  • Low Carbon groups 
  • Network connections to successfully implement Green Deal

Target Audience

These events were aimed at:

  • Potential Green Deal providers - energy suppliers, local authorities, housing associations, private suppliers etc.
  • Energy assessors and advisors
  • Installers - heating engineers, plumbers, electricians, renewable technologies installers etc.
  • Property trade associations
  • Property professional bodies
  • Both commercial and domestic property sectors
  • Trade Unions
  •  Skills bodies i.e. awarding bodies, accreditation schemes, training providers etc.
